Surgery is what she needed, and surgery is what she got. Keeping a 6 month old Border collie quiet for three weeks is another challenge. I did as ordered, keeping her under STRICT crate rest with leashed potty breaks. This went well for almost a week. Christian developed diarrhea. Chris has been diagnosed with OCD, Osteochondritis Dissecans.In her case, it was caused by trauma to her shoulder, and not a genetic predisposition to the disease. I never saw the trauma happen, but immediately after she smashed herself, she was major limping for the rest of the day. Today, I took the girls for another 1/2 mile walk. I wanted to see how Chris was doing, since she had started limping again yesterday. Yesterday, the girls and I took a 1/2 mile leashed walk.
